Skill Set

(a) Must have minimum experience of 7-8 years as Dy. CFO/CFO/Head of Finance & Accounts department in a Bank/FI,

(b) Co-ordination with Internal/External Auditors including Central Bank Auditors/ any other external agencies,

(c) Must have handled finalization of quarterly/annual financial statements,

(d) Preparing different types of MIS for Management/external agencies,

(e) Prior experience of handling different regulatory reports such as Capital Adequacy Ratio, Liquidity Reports, etc. would be preferred,

(f) Proficiency with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) particularly those applicable to the Banking Industry,

(g) Prior experience of handling tax matters would be preferred,

(h) As CFO, the candidate is expected to oversee/supervise the following activities (these are indicative activities):

  • Preparation and finalization of quarterly and annual financial statements and submission thereof to the Central Bank within the prescribed time frame,


  • Attending to Internal and External Auditors including Central Bank Inspection Team,


  • Preparing/coordinating submission of different regulatory reports to the Central Bank of Afghanistan on daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly basis,


  • Supervising, generation and submission of daily and periodical MIS for the Management and other authorities, as may be required,


  • Holding monthly meetings of Assets Liability Management Committee (ALCO),


  • Review and up-dation of Finance & Accounting Policy/Procedures,


  • Preparation of Annual Budget in co-ordination with different departments and presenting the budget to the Management,


  • Cash flow planning, profit planning, projected Capital Adequacy Ratio and Balance Sheets, as may be required,


  • Generating MIS and Agenda Notes for Board, Audit Committee and other Top Management Committees, as may be required,


  • Advising the Management on issues such as profitability, liquidity management, issues relating to regulatory compliance, management of frauds & revenue leakage, etc.
